specifically designed for all property owners to help save money on
unnecessary air conditioning use.
Many holidaymakers leave air conditioners running all day while they are at the beach,
oblivious to the costs that they are accruing
for the property owners.
Eco Friendly can dramatically reduce the abuse of
air conditioning by automatically switching off air conditioners if there is
no-one in the room.
HOW IT WORKS
The movement sensor detects if there is somebody in the room.
It looks just like a smoke detector, and uses 3 AA type batteries.
If there is no movement detected within a pre-programmed time period, the
Eco Friendly sends an "OFF" signal to the air conditioner.
The A/C unit will then shut down in the normal way.
SET-UP
The Eco Friendly is programmed by reading the "OFF" infra-red signal from the
air conditioner's remote control, so that it can send the same signal
when it is time for it to shut down the air conditioning
unit. It is then mounted on the wall or the ceiling.
NIGHT USE
To avoid the problem of the Eco Friendly shutting down the air conditioning unit at
night when the holidaymakers are asleep, there is a "nighttime" facility whereby
the unit will not send a signal when it is in the dark.
This means that holidaymakers can leave the air conditioning on while sleeping.
NOTE:
This system will only work on air conditioning units that are controlled via a remote control, centralised systems that are turned on or off
without a remote control are not able to utilise this system.
